One of the reasons I never realized just how abhorrent of a television personality he was, was because of how unwatchable and terribly unfunny the show was/ and is, in the first place.
The only soundbite from Colbert that I was previously familiar with was his monologue mockingly supporting president Trumps decision to officially accept the Republican nomination and run for office in the first place. Never dreaming he might actually win.
