I wonder how many additional spectacular archeological sites like this must have existed for these Greek explorers to see that no longer exist today. What we see that’s left of ancient Egypt is supposedly not even 5% of what originally existed. In 490 B.C., Egyptian civilization was already ancient and in ruin, though so insanely gigantic and grand that Greek scholars could hardly believe anything like this existed on earth. I never knew there were sketches of megalithic sites that were this large that no longer stand today. It was 2,500 years ago though.
